Our Mission
Friends of Portlaoise Hospital is a local charity dedicated to raising funds to enhance patients' comfort. The "Friends" is a small voluntary committee established in April 1991 with the main aim being to improve patient comforts in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. We do this by providing the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise with much-needed supplies and medical equipment. We rely solely on fundraising and donations.
The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise is a public hospital located in Portlaoise, County Laois. It is managed by the Irish Government's Health Service Executive and provides Acute-Care Hospital Services, including a 24-hour Emergency Department, for the population of County Laois and the Irish Midlands including Offaly, Kildare, Carlow, and Tipperary.

Over the past number of years, the efforts and support of people in the community have been extremely generous and have seen much-needed services purchased for our hospital. This includes Dopplers, Televisions, Personal Protective Equipment (during Covid 19), Blood Pressure Monitors, Buxton Chairs and Dinamaps.
We want to continue helping where we can to improve patients' comfort in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise.
